Chief Minister Punjab has approved payment of salaries to the employees of Tourism Development Corporation Punjab (TDCP). Adviser to Chief Minister for Tourism, Asif Mehmood visited newly built building of TDCP and made announcement of payment of salaries on behalf of chief minister. Because of COVID-19 pandemic tourist spots all over Punjab have been shut down reducing income of TDCP manifold. In this situation payment of salaries of staff was largely disturbed for the last two months. The Adviser raised this issue before the Chief Minister who approved special payment plan for TDCP employees. All staff thanked the Chief Minister and the Adviser for payment of salaries on the eve of Eid ul Ahza.
New building of TDCP situated near Ayoub Chowk, Raiwind road is constructed under a development scheme of Punjab government. Asif Mehmood inspected all sections of TDCP offices while Managing Director TDCP Tanvir Jabbar briefed him about departmental matters. ‘For the first time TDCP offices have been shifted in their own building thanks to the Sardar Usman Buzdar’s keen interest in the promotion of tourism’ said the Adviser. He said that TDCP’s own building would be an important milestone in developing the tourism industry in Punjab. ‘All steps would be taken for welfare of employees of TDCP’ vowed the Adviser.
